REUNION UPDATE 7/12/2014
I have been sent a book from author Mr. Rick Cambell. He has written a book (which I have read and highly recommend)entitled THE TRIDENT DECEPTION It is the best novel about a submarine since Tom Clancy’s THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER. We will have signed books on hand for sale during our reunion.

We also will have an author, Mr Paul Cardinal, who has written a book WHEN PIGS FLEW. Pauls father served aboard the USS CURRITUCK during the last few flights of the P5M. Paul has written a semi factual novel about the live and times of that era. He has video of some of the happenings while in Viet Nam and will be showing that as well as autographing his books at our reunion. He and his sister will be there Friday and Sat. Be sure and attend to hear his tales.

Here is an update for our buffet on Thursday night. We will have a Ukulele band instead of a Steel Drum Band play for our pleasure. This band will play and sing songs from our eras from 5:00 until 8:00 or later if we desire.

Here is the menu for dinner Sat night @ the Flight Academy.

REUNION UPDATE 2/28/2014
I just got home from a very productive trip to Pensacola, and Jacksonville, FL.
I have finalized our reunion details (as much as possible for now).
We are set for the Holiday Inn Resort @ Pensacola Beach. The rates are the same as posted before.
The Thursday buffet by the pool is set, Friday we will have a guest speaker, I meet with him last week and he will provide
handouts and help with filing for VA claims as well as Agent Orange claims.
I stopped at NAS JAX and talked to VP30 Ops, and they have scheduled a P8-A to fam over to Pensacola Friday during our reunion and we
will get to board it and take a tour. Sat night our dinner will be at the National Flight Academy, as the museum is still not having any functions outside of the daily schedule.
And it probably will not change. WE will have our group pictures taken by our plane QE10 on Sat afternon before dinner.
I toured the Flight Academy and it was like stepping onto a ship. I think it will bring back some memories to anyone who was on a ship back then.
I will post a few pictures I took on my trip.
All in all we will be ready for the reunion. Hope to see you all there.
Guy Fisk

REUNION UPDATE   1/21/2014

I have been trying to finalize the upcoming reunion agenda and prices, and I am coming close to it.

Here is what I have to date.

The reunion starts Oct. 8, 2014 and ends Oct 12, 214.

Location is the Holiday Inn Resort, Pensacloa Beach, FL.

Weds. 10/8/14 — registration day/night in ready room

Thurs. 10/09/14 — buffet dinner poolside with a steel drum band for your dancing pleasure.

Friday 10/10/14 — no dinner planned. there is some nice dining within walking distance from hotel.

Sat. 10/11/14) Dinner at the Flight Academy on Pensacola Naval Base. this is the new building next to the air museum. (here is their web site  http://www.nationalflightacademy.com/ )
,the Naval Air Museum is NOT taking any reservations for extra activities for the forseeable future. The flight Academy will have their flight simulators open to us for 1 hour prior to dinner. We will have a photographer for photo’s that evening there as well. We will have a trolley for those who need transportation to and from the hotel. (price $12-15)

Sat 10/11/14) — Business meeting from 1300 -1500 in ready room. (members only)

Sunday — reunion completed for this year.

We will have a VA retiree attend our reunion as a guest speaker and to assist people with VA/agent orange matters. This should be very helpfull for those of us in need of help with the VA.

Also I have talked to VP30 and they have agreed to fly over the new P8A (P3V) replacement for us to admire. I was hoping that VP40 would be training on them at that time but they will not be in training until FY15.
The Blue Angel agenda is changing and I do not know if they will be in town for us or not.

I will be sending out a newsletter this month, with more detailed info and the signup sheet for you to fill out and return to me.
I hope to see you all there. until then stay healthy and happy
